WHO GETS BACK PAIN & BACK PROBLEMS?

Injury can be a cause of backaches, but must be relegated to a minor role, for almost all backaches are without trauma to the sufferer. In the absence of injury, then what causes this widespread problem? What is the root cause?
Backaches are primarily caused by toxicosis, that is toxic substances in the system. The irritation and degeneration morbid substances cause makes the average person of 60 feebler and considerably run down. How do toxic materials cause back pains and other pains?
Morbid substances clog our vascular system, often as plaque-about 95% of Americans over four, have plaques from formative to total occlusion of the arteries. This affects the whole body. But the buildup of these substances is also outside the arteries as in joints (arthritis) and wherever cartilage is found. This includes the spinal column. Moreover, morbid substances or toxins irritate nerve centers wherever they may become concentrated. If irritation becomes serious, inflammation results in the area and that is often quite painful.

Fasting on water exclusively, is a physiological rest for the body, mind and spirituality and will help heal the toxic cause of the back pains. Usually muscle relaxers, pain killers, tranquilizers, anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, physical therapy such as traction, diathermy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs or cold packs, orthopedic appliances such as braces or cervical collars and surgery are prescribed in the hope that the backache will go away. Low-back problems are probably the most expensive non-life-threatening problems in the field of medicine. Researchers say the less medical intervention in back pain, the better. This news comes from the government-sponsored Agency for Health Care Policy Research (AHCPR).
HOW SUCCESSFUL IS SURGERY WITH BACK PAIN & BACK PROBLEMS?
The surgery usually is a laminectomy in which adjacent vertebrae are surgically fused as the disc material is scrapped away. A recent study published in "Spine" determined that the rate of back surgery in the U.S. is 40% higher than in any other country. Over 200,000 surgical procedures are performed annually in attempts to solve this problem. It tops the list of unnecessary surgery. According to some studies, more than half of all spinal surgery for lower back problems should never have been performed. Most people who have had back surgery, report a recurrence of their symptoms within a year or two of the operation and may return to the operation table. In many cases, the surgery makes no difference whatever. Surgery involving spinal fusion, was also associated with frequent complications including chronic pain. J.A.M.A. 19/8/92.
SIDE EFFECTS OF SURGERY FOR BACK PAIN & BACK PROBLEMS
Some of the side effects of back surgery are infection of the bone, muscle, disc space and the spinal cord, instability of the low back and spine, a weak back, scar tissue, recurrent disc herniation, weak muscles and ligaments, metallic implants such as Knodt rods and Harrington rods may cause irritation at the hook sites, fractures, posterior, stooping spinal curvature, need for repeated similar surgeries, surgery performed at the wrong level of the spine because of wrong diagnosis or surgeon's error and permanent nerve damage which can cause permanent back pain and permanent disability involving loss of mobility, strength, endurance and aerobic capacity and can effect any part of the body that the damaged nerves control.
The lower back consists of the five vertebral bodies of the lumbar spine, as well as parts of the pelvis, five merged vertebrae form the sacrum, leading to the coccyx (tail bone), made from other fused vertebrae and hip joints. The spine is a complex structure made up of vertebrae, discs, spinal cord and nerves. In the neck or cervical area, are 7 vertebrae. In the mid-back or thoracic region, are 12 vertebrae.
Most low-back pain results from lack of physical activity. The muscles and ligaments
become strained very easily. In addition to poor muscle tone, other causes include poor posture, bad body mechanics, muscle spasm following injury, a fall, lifting something the wrong way, a sudden twisting movement, an automobile accident, a misstep, muscle, tendon and ligament strain and sprain, stress, sitting or standing the wrong way over long periods of time, collapse of the normal structure of the feet, fractures, lateral curvature of the spine in which the shape of the spine looks like the letter "S" (scoliosis), posterior curvature of the spine, roundback or a stoop (kyphosis), swayback, or too much anterior curved low back (lordosis), facet joint syndrome, short leg syndrome, spinal stenosis, dysfunctional pregnancy, obesity, herniated disc, nerve injury, impinged spinal nerves, sciatica (impinged nerve of the hip and leg), subluxation, lumbago, pelvic joint and ligament sprain (sacroiliac syndrome), myofascial pain syndrome, emotional and psychological tension, tumor, osteoporosis (causing vertebral compression), dysfunction of the genito-urinary tract, referred pain, arthritis, rheumatism, gout, tortipelvis which is tortuous position of the lumbar spine and pelvis, abdominal surgery, spinal degeneration, ankylosing spondylitis, tuberculosis, muscle imbalance, slippage of one vertebra on another (spondylolysthesis), incorrect lifestyle, mentality and spirituality, incorrect nutrition, smoking, alcohol drinking, drugs, chronic cough or bronchitis, etc.
WHAT ARE VERTEBRAE?
Vertebrae are bones that protect your spinal cord. They can be forced or locked out of their proper positions (misaligned).
WHAT IS A HERNIATED DISC?
Herniated disc, "slipped disc"and "ruptured disc", is an injury to the discs, the cushioned pads of cartilage between the vertebrae. Discs are shock absorbers, that can bulge, rupture or wear down. The disc is composed of an outer tough, fibrous covering and ring (anulus) surrounding the soft jelly-like center (nucleus). Disc injuries can range from minor damage of stretching the anulus to a severe injury resulting in a tear of the anulus. This allows the soft center to push out or rupture, sometimes placing pressure on the nerves in the spinal canal.
WHAT IS SPINAL STENOSIS?
Spinal Stenosis is a local, segmental or generalized narrowing of the central spinal canal or neuroforamina or the various tunnels through which nerves and other structures communicate with that canal by bony or soft-tissue elements that may encroach on the neural structures. It usually results from osteoarthritis.
WHAT IS ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS?
Ankylosing Spondylitis, (Marie-Strumpell Disease), is a chronic inflammatory disease, first affecting the spine and adjacent structures, and commonly progressing to eventual fusion (ankylosis) of the involved joints. In extreme cases the patient develops a forward flexion of the spine, called a "poker spine" or "bamboo spine". Most medical authorities think that it is a variant of rheumatoid arthritis.
WHAT IS FACET JOINT SYNDROME?
Facet joint syndrome originates from the small joints on the back portion of the spinal vertebra, the portion called the "facet". These joints involve an overlapping piece of bone from two adjoining vertebrae that glide over each other during movements of the back.
WHAT IS MYOFASCIAL SYNDROME?
Myofascial pain syndrome is caused by injury and damage to the soft tissues. Muscles (myo) are made of many strong, elastic fibers banded together by a protective covering (fascia).
WHAT IS BACK PAIN?
The back pain can manifest itself as a specific ache, twinge, cramp, spasm, vague soreness or severe bout of pain. The symptom can occur immediately or several hours or days after the exertion.Pain is a feeling of distress, suffering or agony caused by stimulation of specialized nerve endings.
HOW DOES THE BACK MOVE?
Movement of the lower back is normally a compound function of several muscular
structures. Muscles of the hips and thighs work together with muscles of the back, the sides and the abdominal area.
WHY DOES ONE HAVE BACK PAIN & BACK PROBLEMS?
The most common form of backache arises from a body burdened with waste and
impurities. A body in this condition is tired and overstuffed with fuel it cannot use.
It is the patient who is sick. It is not the condition that is making the patient sick. The
so-called condition is the body's effort to recover health and get rid of the excess toxins.
The cells are burdened and sluggish and cannot perform the normal functions of
assimilation, repair and elimination necessary to maintain health.
WHAT TO DO TO HELP HEAL BACK PAIN INSTANTLY
The body is demanding that you focus on it. You cannot focus on the body if you are
running around tending to this and that. You must stop what you are doing and rest. You must rest every moment that you can and you must do so with your eyes closed.
The reason you must close your eyes is because you completely rest this way and are able to focus on the inside of the body. If your eyes are open, you are distracted and you are using up energy.
While you are resting, focus all of your attention on whatever you feel. In other words, confront your body. This is a form of feeling meditation. Focus on your back pain.
At first it may feel very intense and you may want to take your mind off of the pain.
However, if you continue to focus on the pain, you will find that it eases up. It becomes more and more tolerable. This is because you are raising your pain threshold. In other words, your body is adapting to the pain. It is meeting the demands you are placing on it.
The body will never give you more pain than you can endure. Do not fear the pain. If you accept the pain, you will have an easier time by feelingly meditating on it. When you feelingly meditate on it, it subsides faster than if you attempt to ignore it or focus elsewhere.
Therefore, the first and foremost thing to do is rest with your eyes closed and do feeling meditation. You will find that your body most likely does not want to metabolize food because that takes energy. Your body wants to concentrate all of its energy repairing the back.
HOW TO EAT SO AS TO HELP HEAL BACK PAIN & BACK PROBLEMS
However, if you find you feel hungry, eat foods cooked as little as possible, preferably raw. Raw foods are the easiest for the body to metabolize.

You must continue to rest and feelingly meditate on the pain until you no longer feel it. It may take days, weeks or months. The more time you can devote to resting, the quicker you will heal.
You definitely will heal completely.

You must be patient. If you become impatient and decide to apply any type of treatment, you will only be interfering with the body's own healing process. The pain is an indication that the body wants to repair and heal the area. If you suppress the pain, you suppress the body's ability to repair and the condition will become worse and worse.
